Faced with the threat of water scarcity, the program works on research, production and improvement of water availability, through actions of protection and recovery of springs, georeferencing, monitoring of the hydrological flow of the main water courses, implantation of forest nurseries, restoration vegetation of deforested areas and environmental education activities.
The program also carries out ecological basic sanitation projects and the development of sustainable family agriculture. The program is designed by Usiminas in partnership with the Association of Municipalities of Vale do Aço (AMVA), the Multipurpose Intermunicipal Consortium of Vale do Aço (CIMVA) and the Interagir Institute. The Mobiliza Todos Pela Água Program is developed in conjunction with the Mobiliza Pelos Caminhos do Vale Program, which supplies steel aggregate to 84 municipalities in the east of Minas Gerais for the paving of rural roads and, in return, the municipalities are committed to the development of socio-environmental programs in favor of communities with activities such as the recovery of springs and riparian forests.
