World Water Day is celebrated on March 22nd and the Interagir Institute in partnership with INFRATER, Ipatinga City Hall and UNILESTE started the celebrations for this very important day on March 10th.

Several projects were carried out during this period, theaters were presented in schools, trips with children to strategic locations in our region, making them aware of the importance of preserving and protecting springs. In these projects, the children had the opportunity to get to know up close some preserved animals that live and depend on this natural resource, and students and teachers were also presented with a water analysis of a lake near the school, providing them with valuable information about water quality, with this it is possible to say what can be done to improve the water quality and increase the aquatic life of the place.

March 10th

First day of socio-environmental actions in the region, students from Escola Municipal 7 de Outubro received teachings on the preservation of water resources and how it can be carried out, they planted seedlings of trees native to the region next to a river, increasing the protection of the course water, and also learned a little more about animals that live in the aquatic environment and the importance of water for each of them.

March, 15

On the 15th, another group participated in the World Water Day event, received information of great value about how the preservation of this resource directly affects the fauna and flora, had a moment with the pair of interns teaching about some aquatic animals and how they are affected when there is no adequate protection of their habitat, a second moment they received information about the reconstitution of riparian forest, protecting beds that serve as habitat and food for several species.

March 17

On March 17th, another environmental awareness project was carried out with another group, in partnership with Unileste we held the exhibition of preserved aquatic animals, a moment of great value. The children were given all the information they needed about each animal on display, jellyfish, octopus, snakes, the complete cycle of a frog and various other animals. They had a moment of increased auditory perception, placing their hands behind their ears with the palm facing forward, so that sounds become more intense and detailed in that region.

Infrater was also present, holding a moment of awareness and restoration of riparian forest and donation of seedlings of native trees to the children.

March 21st

On the 21st, it was the turn of the Paulo Freire Municipal School, the awareness project was carried out at the location next to the school in the Parque das Águas neighborhood, an area with two nearby ponds where it was possible to carry out the analysis of their water, through the probe multiparameter that gives results physical

-chemicals of the analyzed water, such as temperature, pH, oxygen level, etc. The children received all the information provided by the probe in a more simplified way to improve their understanding of technical matters. This time, in addition to aquatic animals, we present children with taxidermized animals, such as the toucan and the lesser anteater.

March 22

On World Water Day, several projects were carried out at the Ipatinga Municipal Nursery, in partnership with INFRATER and the City Hall of Ipatinga, a theater was presented to the audience by Flora Manga. Children aged between 8 and 10 years were able to visit some parts of the nursery, getting to know some aquatic and terrestrial animals with the Interagir Institute interns for the Mobiliza Todos Pela Água project, they planted trees native to the region and also learned more about the protection of springs. of our region, with this, in the future, they will be people who care about nature as a whole, always with one objective, to protect it.
